Vernissage

Urban Provence unveiled: “Provence Urbaine” opens at Domaine du Belambrée as part of Wine’Aixperience

On the evening of March 22, 2025, art and wine lovers gathered at Domaine du Belambrée for the vernissage of “Provence Urbaine,” a photography exhibition capturing the unexpected urban soul of Marseille and Aix-en-Provence. The event marked the opening of a month-long exhibition, running through April 26, and formed part of the “Wine’Aixperience” initiative, led by the Tourism Office of Aix-en-Provence in partnership with local vineyards.

In this unique setting—where the elegance of a Provençal wine estate meets contemporary visual storytelling—“Provence Urbaine” invites viewers to step off the postcard path. Instead of lavender fields and sun-drenched villages, the exhibition presents a raw and poetic portrait of Provence’s city life: graffiti-marked walls, glowing alleyways, bustling markets, quiet urban moments, and the friction between heritage and modernity.

The vernissage blended visual art with the region’s celebrated wine culture. Guests sipped on selections from Domaine du Belambrée, surrounded by large-format photographs that turned the vineyard into an immersive urban landscape.

“Provence Urbaine” is a fresh look at two iconic cities—Marseille and Aix-en-Provence—through the lens of contemporary urban photography. It’s a visual dialogue between tradition and transformation, hosted in one of the region’s most beautiful vineyards.

The exhibition is open to the public at Domaine du Belambrée from March 22 to April 26, 2025. Visitors are invited to discover Provence with new eyes—and a glass in hand.
